On Sunday 14 June 2020, teams across the world ran, walked, cycled a total of 88kms individually, or collectively, and asked for donations. All donations were generously matched at 100% by our matching partner, CVC Capital.

Thanks to everyone who took part we exceeded our matching target of 10 500 euros – we raised 10 882 euros. Add the matching amount of 10 500 euros from CVC and we raised a whopping 21 382 euros.

African Angels will continue educating the children of Chintsa in South Africa, so their futures will be better, and their parents hopes for their children will be realised.

Because of you, children who previously were not seen, will be competitive when applying for high school bursaries. Children like:

• Linako who now attends the Oprah Winfrey Leadesrship Academy for Girls in Johannesburg
• Indie, who is in her third year at one of the Province’s best girls’ schools
• Lizalise and Ayola, two boys who have been accepted into the Allan Orbis Gray Scholarship programme for high school in 2021 and beyond.

Because of you, Lungie, who works as a cleaner at African Angels, can support her mom, son, brother and uncle. Lungie is the only person employed in her family.

Because of you, our children didn’t go hungry during South Africa’s national lockdown, and received regular food parcels to help with food security.

Because of you, the people who live in the tiny seaside village of Chintsa in South Africa, have hope. For a better future for all.
