The Rotary Club of Arcadia has been a long-time supporter of African Angels. Their most recent project was to fund the tiling of the boys’ hostel. When Kathy Naylor, of their Rotary Anns club, popped in to have a look at the new floors she was struck by the state of the curtains; many were threadbare and some were even hung up with string.
She says, “A few years ago we made new curtains to brighten up the girls’ hostel and now that there is also a boys hostel, I felt that we should do the same for them.”
Kathy took the project to her fellow Rotary Ann’s and with the sewing help of Sheila Burmeister and the hanging skills of Mary Gregory, each room now has brand-new rails, hooks, runners and a set of colourful new curtains.
What a treat for the boys to come ‘home’ to in their rooms at night. Thank you Kathy and your Rotary Ann team.
