Supporter Spotlight – MBSA

African Angels Independent school is extremely grateful for our 12 year strong partnership with Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) who truly understand education is a long term project. Over the years, the relationships formed between the MBSA and African Angels staff have grown deeper, and as our first graduates matriculate, they are able to participate in events at MBSA, as representatives of African Angels.

Thanks to MBSA’s generosity in 2015, our children have been safely transported to and from school every day in our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter – the “Ingelosi (Angel) Express”. During a recent visit by the MBSA leadership team, we explained that our students’ participation in local sporting events such as cross country meets, or netball games against other schools was limited by transport (as the Sprinter is busy taking other children home), MBSA decided to donate a VITO to the school, which will comfortably seat 7 children plus a driver. However, with their giant corporate heart, MBSA also donated 6 more Vitos to 6 more local charitable organisations. (Click here to read about their generosity).

Okuhle Booi, one of our African Angels’ graduates attended the handover and says, “I was excited to be invited to the handover as part of the African Angels team – we were one of 7 charities receiving a VITO on that occasion and it was really heart-warming to be part of the event.”

The VITO will be used to transport children to extra mural events such as cross country and to outings; all of which expand their experience of the world and open their eyes to opportunities beyond their usual environment.

Thank you MBSA for expanding the world for our African Angels
