Term started successfully with all staff and learners getting into the swing of things very quickly. The learners were very excited to be back at school.
Our pass rate last year was 98% and 20% of our graduates were awarded scholarships for high school – this is something we are all very proud of. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to achieve these results during the COVID pandemic; from staff, learners and parents. A few of our present Grade 7’s are now in the process of writing exams for possible scholarships next year. Milisani and Inga have their first round of exams for the Oprah Winfrey Academy for Girls this Saturday. Inga has also made it through to the next round of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Bursary application process and has been invited to write an entrance exam for Kingswood College in Grahamstown. We wish them all the best.
Sponsors, thank you for making our work possible and for giving us the confidence that our costs will be covered and our salaries will be paid. We have many corporate sponsors who donate each year. 58% of the 153 children in the school this year have an individual sponsor who contributes towards their school fees – 28% of those sponsors have been supporting their Angel for over 5 years.
