Sharon and the whole team at African Angels are very proud of our Inga who has been accepted into the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG) in Johannesburg next year. Inga joins Linako who is in Grade 9 at the Academy. It is a huge honour to be awarded a bursary at OWLAG, with more than 6 000 applications received annually from across South Africa.
Inga and her very proud mother are extraordinarily proud to be part of such a prestigious school and the opportunities this will bring for her future.
Inga says, “I am so excited to be given this opportunity. I am most excited to make new friends and to learn new things.”

She says that the process has been long and at some points quite nerve wracking. The recruitment camp in August introduced her to air travel and hotel accommodation for the first time. In addition, the days were filled with tests and interviews. She says she was really nervous but “pulled herself together” because she really wanted to be accepted.
When asked what the future holds, she says she is determined to go on to tertiary education to perhaps study astronomy or become a surgeon. With this opportunity, these dreams become a possibility.
A huge congratulations to her amazing mother, and late father.
